Kirsten and Nick celebrated their wedding this spring in Nashville, Tennessee in such a simple and elegant day. After a traditional ceremony at the church where Kirsten used to work, we went to Bobbie’s Dairy Dip for ice cream. They finished up the evening with dinner and dancing at Thistle Farms Cafe. They had personalized touches in every part of the day. Here is some of their beautiful day, captured primarily on film! Kirsten and Nick chose to have fun through the whole process of wedding photography, from the engagement photos through the dancing. They love Nashville’s iconic Arnold’s Country Kitchen, so that’s where we went for their engagement session. The hope was to have photos that represented themselves and not just a typical posed session, and it was absolutely perfect. We used some punchy film with flash and they shared some of their favorites for lunch, then we walked in the rain for a little bit more.
Their wedding was just as beautiful and personalized. It was simple, it was elegant, and the film photos specifically are some of my favorites. What made this wedding day so unique, to me, were the little touches. The groom wanted to get ready in a bachelorette-themed paradise, so he rented a pink airbnb! He also drew their save the dates, which they printed onto stickers. The table markers were cards he’d drawn for Kirsten over the years. Kirsten works with kids, so their invitations were made my a children’s book illustrator. Their cake was so detailed and fit their theme perfectly. They wanted a break between events, so we went to get ice cream and they drove themselves to Cookout. Cocktail hour had a personalized crossword for guests to try and finish.
Family had flown in from Mexico and Germany and all over the US, and it looked to me like every single person was having a blast. It was an honor as always to be their photographer. For more information on their incredible team of vendors, check out these links!
