Timing
When should I propose?
While nighttime proposal photos sound dreamy and romantic, consider proposing during the day if you want professional photography. I’d be happy to show you some examples of night proposals versus daytime proposals!
Mindset
Enjoy the moment
Have fun with it! This is a day that you two will remember forever, so don’t overthink it too much. Be yourself, consider writing out what you’ll say to her, and do it in a way that feels natural to both of you.
Hire a professional photographer
This way you’ll be able to share this part of your story with friends and family. Be wary of asking a friend to take photos. Proposal photography can be complicated, because you have one chance to capture the moment and not give away the surprise. With dozens of proposals photographed, I would be happy to chat about taking pictures of your proposal.
Instructions for family...
If you have family coming into town, ask them to turn off their location sharing. There’s nothing worse than having an epic surprise planned when your partner sees that her relatives are unexpectedly in town.
