While I realize I say this about all of my couples, AB and Jonathan are two of the kindest people I know, and their gorgeous engagement session along the river in Nashville was everything we could have hoped for! The sun was shining, the weather was cool, and our lovely Tennessee spring was still hanging on. Cumberland Park is a gem, with a spectacular view of the city and generally very few people aside from the tourists scooting by on Birds. The night was full of smiles and giggles, and here are a few of my favorites, along with a little bit of AB and Jonathan’s story.

I met AB a couple of years ago when she began volunteering with the youth group at our church. Something about hanging out with teenagers really brings people together, and it’s been so much fun to have her as our volunteer group has grown and shifted. I didn’t meet Jonathan until recently, but he has the same servant heart, giving of time and energy without making a big deal of it, and I’m sure these two are going to move mountains. (Plus, look how cute they are.)

How did you two meet?

In July 2016, we met in Haiti on a mission trip. Throughout the week, we became good friends. Once we were home, we kept in touch and the rest is history! 

First date?
For our first date, we went to New Orleans. It’s kind of a crazy story because, since we started long distance (him in Texas and me in Mississippi), when we decided we wanted to pursue a relationship I told him I wanted to try and meet in person to make sure neither of us were crazy. So about a month and a half after we got home from Haiti, we each drove half way to New Orleans to meet for coffee. It was so fun! 

How did he propose?
On Feb 15, Jonathan had planned a surprise. He picked me up and took me downtown to the top floor of the building we go to church in. Just a week prior I had told him how much I loved the top floor of that building, so it was so sweet. After the proposal, our families and close friends were all downtown to surprise us and we were able to celebrate the rest of the weekend.
