Lauren and Jesse met at Lipscomb, and had the sweetest wedding at The Venue at Twin Oaks this August! My incredible associate photographer Erin went to capture the day, and came back with the most stunning images. The sun shone so beautifully on the property, and it sounds like everyone had the best evening of celebration under the big Oak tree out front. A little less than a year ago, I went out to the venue with Jesse and Lauren to take their engagement photos, and the morning was equally beautiful. If you missed that session, find it here!
I asked Lauren if she had advice for any brides and grooms, and this is what she said:
Make sure you remember the big picture. All of the details of wedding planning can be time consuming and stressful and start to become the main focus. Remember, the main focus is that fact that you are getting married! Even if every detail isn’t perfect, you will still get to marry the love of your life – and that is the biggest gift of them all.
Also, if you get married outside, don’t forget bug spray.

What was your favorite moment of the day?
“Both of our favorite moments of the day running down the aisle right after we got married. We ran down the aisle and had a moment to just soak in the fact that we were married. Then our bridal party and family all came and hugged us and congratulated with us, cheered and celebrated us. And we just had a beautiful moment together. Lauren: Also, one of my favorite memories was right before we lined up for the ceremony, the minister who married us (who was a close friend and mentor of mine – the first person to encourage me to go into ministry actually) gathered all the family and the bridal party and had everyone pray over us. I remember how at peace and loved we felt in that moment, and it was incredible to be surrounded by so many people who loved us and had poured into us – from the littlest flower girls to our family and friends.”
Describe the day in one word.
“Lauren: Perfect. Jesse: Exciting”
Any funny stories from the day?
“My dad’s pants completely ripped right before he walked down the aisle. He didn’t tell me how bad it was until afterward, but he pulled his jacket down lower over it, and continued to walk me down the aisle. BEST and FUNNIEST thing ever.”
