Nashville, Tennessee is full of wedding venues, from rustic barns and quaint homes to the bright, minimalistic, and modern space like 14TENN. 14TENN is a newer wedding venue nestled in the Nations neighborhood of West Nashville, just minutes from downtown. It has rooms for the bridal party to get ready, a patio, and a vast expansive room for both ceremony and reception. The clean white walls and massive amount of windows make this one of my favorite Nashville venues as a wedding photographer. Here are a few photos from a wedding at 14TENN this March. Choosing a wedding venue can be overwhelming, especially in a place like Nashville that is filled with options ranging across styles, sizes, and budgets. 14TENN advertises itself as an affordable and unique venue that stands out among the rest. According to their website, the building was constructed as part of a mill in 1925. The neighborhood of the Nations has always been one of my favorites, slowly growing and filling with eclectic coffee shops, breweries, and more.
What should I look for in a wedding venue? If budget is not your first issue, then I would recommend looking for something that fits your style. A space like 14TENN is wide open, very white, elegant, and full of windows. It can be decorated to fill almost any style or vision. Other spaces in Nashville such as 1220 are more quaint, elegant, and intimate.
Another thing to take note of is the space for getting ready. Is it bright like 14TENN? Is it big enough for your wedding party? Or would you prefer to get ready at a nearby Airbnb?
And the third thing that I recommend considering when looking for wedding venues is the location itself. Somewhere centrally located like 14TENN, The Reserve, or 1220 can make it easier for guests to find nearby lodging, and to enjoy a weekend close to the city. Alternatively if your wedding guests are local or will be able to drive, a wedding venue further into the country may prove equally convenient.
