What are Super 8
and 16mm film

This favorite film camera of mine is from the 1950s. Real film, spinning through the gears, capturing scenes through beautiful vintage glass.

Super 8 and 16mm are formats of film cameras from the 20th century. Both are a silent format of film (though they once could record sound, that's been lost.) Super 8 has been the buzz word for several years in the wedding world. It's where I began and what let me to 16mm - more intricate and detailed, a larger film size with more room for capturing low light and detail, still in an utterly timeless and vintage style.

16mm film as a wedding format is for the artists, the lovers of history, couples who want something different and real. The sound of the shutter can be heard when I film, a quick clicking as light and color enter the lens and imprint on the film.

Watching pieces of your life on 16mm film feels like viewing an artistic masterpiece but with all the warmth and comfort of familiarity. It is hard to explain just how special it is.

"Jamie was simply amazing! She is the most kind, intentional, and professional worker. From our engagement session to the wedding day, she was consistently there for us. She made both of us feel so comfortable behind the camera and she helped make the day feel so effortless and smooth."
