In late May, I invited a few other wedding vendors to put together a styled wedding in the backyard of a gorgeous AirBnb in Nashville, Tennessee. The evening was gorgeous, with sunlight streaming through the Magnolia tree and bringing out the richness of our darker, jewel-toned color palette.
With intimate backyard weddings becoming the norm, I was so thrilled to put this together and share just how beautiful and elegant a backyard can be, even somewhere as simple as an AirBnb.
Here are some favorites from this intimate backyard wedding. Read more below, or click here to get in touch!

Backyard weddings have always been some of my favorite types of ceremonies. They’re intimate, they’re quiet, and you’re surrounded by your closest people. Planning a backyard wedding can be as simple as finding a rental house that you like, talking with the owner about hosting an event, and sending out the invitations. So even if you don’t have a decadent yard of your own, don’t worry! If you’re planning an intimate wedding in place of your big celebration, here’s a blog post with some ideas: Elopement Planning in Covid.
Intimate weddings and elopements lend an especially great opportunity to showcase your personality and try something unique. For this styled shoot, we decided to use darker jewel tones in the florals, the china, and the invitations. They were gorgeous in the evening sun, and the white walls of the AirBnb helped colors pop all the more. If you want to do something unique with your colors, ask your florist! I talked with Alex about these flowers in the weeks leading up to the shoot, and her arrangements blew me away. The same went for Lisa of the wedding plate, and the tablescape that she brought. Your vendors are here to serve you and help you create the most beautiful and special wedding that you can imagine, whether that’s dreaming up something new or putting together a classy, traditional theme.
