Kajsa and Thomas had the most beautiful rainy day wedding in Nashville, with a simple and elegant ceremony at Brentwood Hills Church, followed by an equally elegant reception at Loveless Cafe. After photographing their Christmas engagement session last December, I knew that their wedding was going to be special! If you haven’t seen it, look back at their session for all of the cozy winter goodness. And now, here are some of my favorite photos of Kajsa and Thomas’s wedding day!

Kajsa and her bridesmaids started the morning at the hotel where her family stayed the night before, in Brentwood. By the time I arrived to start photographing, it was such a relaxed and pleasant scene. All of the girls were taking their time, Kajsa was sitting on the couch watching the other girls finish up, and they still had hours to relax before heading to the ceremony location, Brentwood Hills Church. The guys finished getting ready at the church, where my amazing second photographer Hannah spent some time capturing all of those behind the scenes moments and portraits. (A side note: having a second photographer is 1000% something that I recommend! A second set of creative, reliable eyes like Hannah’s always seems to save the day and add some fresh perspective. It also lets me basically be in two places at once! So shout out to Feiten Photography.)

Once everyone was ready, we were nervous about finding a window in between rain clouds for portraits. Amazingly enough, we had just the right amount of time, and all of the guys and girls had the best attitudes. We braved the damp pavement to take some group shots, and only had to pull out the umbrellas near the very end of the night.

All in all the day was stunning. Kajsa and Thomas’s first dance was followed by Thomas’s dance with his mother (which was fast, choreographed, and incredible), and a moment to honor both Kajsa and Thomas’s late fathers. The couple and their mothers stood at the front of the venue while Kajsa’s mom spoke about her late husband, the strength they have found, and the hope and expectation that they’ll all be reunited again one day. Kajsa’s “something blue” for the day was a small blue heart cut out of one of her father’s shirts, sewn lightly into the inside of her dress.
