A Summer Wedding at the Venue at Birchwood

Wedding photograph from the Venue at Birchwood

Carly and Lelan celebrated their wedding at the Venue at Birchwood on a sunny day in June with their closest family and friends. It was a magical day from start to finish. From Carly’s elegant and timeless dress to their choice of white florals and greenery, every detail was perfect and personal. The Venue at Birchwood is always a favorite of mine, because the buildings are beautifully lit and because there is plenty of space for ceremony and reception events. The two buildings are connected by an awning for rainy days, which makes it especially great in an unpredictable weather area like Tennessee. Read some of the couple’s thoughts below!

1. What was the most memorable moment on your wedding day?

Lelan and I both found the first look to be the most memorable. It was so sweet and special to see each other and share this moment just the two of us.

2. If you could sum up the day in one word, what would it be?

Lelan said ‘bright,’ I said ‘bliss.’

3. After the many months of planning, were you able to relax and enjoy the day?

Definitely yes. It honestly felt like the culmination of everything we had waited patiently for 🙂

4. Who were your MVPs through the entire process?

James (Lelan’s best man), Ashley (my sister, matron of honor), Haley (maid of honor), Olivia (bridesmaid), and my mom!

5. What about the honeymoon? Where did you go, and do you have any favorite parts or funny stories?

It was truly the best week ever. We still talk about it frequently and reminisce even now. We went to Arizona- spent time exploring the Grand Canyon and other surrounding areas. For the first part of the week, we stayed in a cabin in Williams, Arizona, kind of in the middle of nowhere. Each morning we awoke, we could hear the sound of cicadas from the porch, making a calm and peaceful environment to just hang out before we went and hiked in the Grand Canyon. That place was probably our favorite memory. We can’t wait to go back!
