Fat Bottom Brewery Wedding | Madeline & Michael

The Wedding

Madeline and Michael tied the knot at The Reserve surrounded by pops of color, sunshine, family, and friends. It was the cusp of fall at a local Nashville brewery, a dreamy day for a celebration. I’ve known Madeline and Michael for several years now and was thrilled to photograph their wedding day.

From the first moments of planning to the evening’s end with a send off and dancing, Madeline and Michael were blast to celebrate with. With support from family and friends, Alex Westerhouse’s Planning, and a (gorgeous) venue, wedding ideas came to life in this sunny, September wedding,

The day was dreamy and the wedding was stress-free. The groom’s floral tie matched the bouquets! Groomsmen rocked navy suits, and bridesmaids balanced in burnt orange dresses! Wrapped the night under the stars, a great taste in music, and a shiny, sparkler send off!

The Venue

A rustic but modern wedding. A clean slate with character. That’s The Reserve Venue located in the Nations in Nashville, TN at Fat Bottom Brewery. You may remember I mentioned the The Reserve a while back – needless to say, I was ecstatic to shoot a wedding at a local brewery in Nashville.

The Reserve venue is a large capacity space (180 people! 3,000 square ft!) centrally located in the ever-growing, ever-charming Nations neighborhood. We’re talking less than 10 minutes from downtown.

Fat Bottom Brewery’s Reserve boasts a large warehouse-type space, adorned by high ceilings and garage door windows, and airy, contemporary architecture, and is a great backdrop for unique wedding decorations. Beyond the indoor venue, guests gather at the outdoor area that includes a lovely green garden, fit for a cocktail reception, dance floor, or simply a convenient overflow space to celebrate and cheers together. Some couples choose to host their ceremony outdoors on a sunny day.

A Bit From The Bride

What was the most meaningful part of your wedding?

Michael and I used pre-written vows, but we each wrote a note to each other to read aloud during our ceremony. It was by far my favorite part! It was so sweet and special to be able to both speak from our hearts to each other during the wedding.

How did you decide on your venue?

We visited one venue before The Reserve, and it was beautiful but it didn’t feel like us. As soon as we saw The Reserve it just felt right!

How did you decide on your venue?

We visited one venue before The Reserve, and it was beautiful but it didn’t feel like us. As soon as we saw The Reserve it just felt right! It is modern and beautiful and has such a cool feel. The wood floors and rust accents were perfect for our fall feel. They also helped to minimize vendors we needed to find, since they do so much in house! That was a huge plus.

Do you remember a moment that took your breath away, or made your heart skip a beat?

There was a moment on the dance floor during a slow song when Michael and I just looked around and realized we were surrounded by so many people who love us so much. We were married! And dancing at our wedding! It felt so surreal and magical. We both teared up and hugged as we danced and just soaked it in.

Is there anything you wish you knew while planning?

I wish I had known that I didn’t have to be stressed! During wedding planning, so many people asked me how I was hanging in there. A lot of the time I was great, but I started to feel like I was doing something wrong if I wasn’t stressed! If any couples planning a wedding don’t feel stressed by it, that’s great! Don’t feel like you have to give into the stress because people expect it of you

What’s one word you’d each use to describe the day?

Dreamy!

And lastly, who were your MVPs on the wedding day / weekend?

I had lots of MVPs! Our families and wedding party were amazing. My planner, Alex Westerhouse, made everything run smoothly, created the most gorgeous flower arrangements, and took care of all the things. And I couldn’t forget Jamie! She made us look like models, all while making us laugh and feel so comfortable. She even drove me to the venue for the first look! Jamie is an absolute rockstar.
